The National Cooperative Supply Corporation Ltd, (NCSC) formerly known as Rural Supply Cooperation Corporation registered in 1961 under Cooperative Societies Act 1912. It is an apex organization of Agricultural Cooperatives serving its members at National level.
The main objectives of corporation include to arrange supplies of Agricultural inputs viz Fertilizer, Seeds, Pesticides and Agricultural Machinery like Tractors, Combine Harvester & Agricultural Implements as well as marketing of Agricultural produce of the farmer members of Cooperative Societies. Corporation, in persuasion of its objectives had taken up the gigantic task of introduction & distribution of chemical fertilizers to farmer as pioneer institution in 1962.
Similarly in 1978-80 improvement in mechanized farming was introduced by importing improved Fiat Tractors from Italy and 8130 units of Fiat Tractors were provided to farmer members of Cooperative Societies on subsidized rates. The farmers were given financial benefit in Million of rupees.
Presently, NCSC is running a Fait Tractors dealership in Sargodha, Cotton Ginning & Pressing Unit located in Hasilpur District Bahawalpur which enjoys very good reputation in market due to its high quality of production attained on most modern machines and skilled staff. Following the spirit of Cooperative farmer members of Cooperative Societies working in adjoining areas directly bring their produce to the factory for sale against cash thus eliminating the middle man. Cotton Oil expelling unit is also an integral part of the factory which is providing equally good quality production.
Corporation has gone further in providing services to farmer member of Cooperative Societies and established a Cold Storage in Sargodha for providing services to Kinnow growers helping them to export high quality fruits and earn foreign exchange for the country. The offices/projects of NCSC are located in Islamabad, Lahore, Sargodha & Hasilpur distt. Bahawalpur.
In this era specialization some Agro based projects are in pipeline which will help to improve the present marketing strategies in Agro Industry. The coordination with different research based organizations is in progress to chalk out different programmes for assistance and benefit of farmer members of Cooperative Societies with introduction of latest techniques and machinery.
NCSC is member of Punjab Cooperative Union Lahore, National Cooperative Union Islamabad, International Cooperative Alliance & Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The affairs of Corporation are run by an elected Board of Directors comprising the representatives of farmers.
